Artist's Statement:
As a photographic artist I believe its not only important and necessary to move forward into the future of the art form, but it is absolutely essential to maintain a living history of all traditional methodologies. This is where I begin...
First comes the tale, the muse in which I find my inspiration. I travel inside the story, hovering above it, gazing over the entire scene. I become each character. I get inside them, see through their eyes, touch as they touch, speak as they speak, hear what they hear and feel what they feel. I peel back each layer until one piece presses forth. Singling itself out as the touch paper in my mind’s eye. These pieces become my escape, my history and most importantly my breathing reality here and now.
This becomes the place where my image making begins.
Biography:
I have been a photographer for over
20 years, with two Master’s degrees in the art form. I’ve
exhibited my fine art photography since 1989, and have had shows
in my hometown of Binghamton, NY as well as Owego, Boston, MA
and Savannah, GA. In addition to my first love, fine art photography,
I have experience in Fashion/Commercial photography. I received
the Departmental Award in Photography from Endicott College,
and have had my photographs published.
Currently, I am the senior faculty
member in Photography at Broome Community College, as well
as a freelance photographic artist.
